Route description:

You start at the fork to Vrachesh Monastery. In the beginning, you walk on a sloping road through a valley. There is a rather steep climb to the ridge. When you reach the meadow in front of the top, there is a triple fork, but only the road to Murgash Lodge is visible. You have to go straight and climb the rocks. After about 300 m you can see the markings and continue directly to the top on a barely visible path.

The descent is much easier; you go on a „classic“ route through the Govedarnika locality. For variety, you can continue along the ridge mark Kom-Emine until you reach a large fork. In the meantime, you can visit a small peak – Yovchovoto peak. You can go down the classic dirt road, but you can also go on the path that passes through the meadows. There is a steep descent through the forest.

Murgash is the highest peak in the Murgash part in the Western Stara Planina Mountains. Its height is 1687 m above sea level. It is built of Paleozoic rocks and has domed shape with steep slopes. The Eleshnitsa and Batuliyska Rivers spring from its foot.
