The local master builder usta (meaning master in Turkish) Vuno Markov built it in 1866. Atanas Dimitrov constructed the bell tower, and the clock mechanism was made by Gencho Kantardzhiyata. It is the tallest Revival clock tower in Bulgaria (30 m in length). It was declared a cultural monument of national importance in 2007 and is included in the 100 national tourist sites under № 81. Even today the century-old tower rises majestically in the centre of the city, and the ringing of its bell reminds the younger generation of the heroic history of Botevgrad.
Address: Osvobojdenie square, Botevgrad
